Rube Goldberg Machine

The project is a Rube Goldberg machine, which I have made in real life before so I know how they work. I knew that I wanted to make something with dominos but how I got there was something I had to think about. Then I just thought of the possibility of making a ramp as well as something for the sphere to bounce off of to get to the dominos. So that's how I ended up with what I have submitted now. 

When making this project, I did have some difficulty with making sure that everything was aligned and looking normal. What I mean by normal is if everything is aligned properly and isn’t like a way off. I also had trouble understanding the mass and what it does, I assumed that the more mass an object had would mean its a lot easier to push things or it would have more velocity. Like for example, when I was working on making the sphere go down the ramp, my originally goal was to have it kind of hop onto the other ramp and have it roll down into the dominos but I couldn’t get it to work that way so I ended up settling for having the sphere bounce off of the ramp and then going to the side/back and knocking down the dominos from there. Which also did not work that well because it was so slow and they didn’t necessarily look like how dominos would fall. 

This game is my first project I’ve done for my Unity workshop class. While this is not my first time working in Unity, it is my first time working in Unity 3D. I actually never even knew that Unity allowed 3D up until recently when I was working in Unity for the first time last quarter, in my Game Development 1 class. Needless to say, I am much better working in a 2D setting rather than a 3D setting. This project, while seemingly very very simple, was still slightly difficult for me because I am still learning its interface but also trying to just figure out all the 3D things still, since 3D is slightly difficult for me. Overall, I am feeling pretty mediocre with how this turned out, it’s one hundred percent not my absolute best work but I still treated it with the same energy I would put into anything else…meaning I put my full effort into this trying to put my best step forward. However, I am still kind of sad and I think if I had more experience in just the realm of 3D it would have been a lot cooler.
